Asbestos Awareness OSHA requires asbestos awareness training which is specific to a company or location. Additional site-specific training will be required.

Overview

Workers who may work around or near asbestos containing material (ACM), or presumed asbestos containing material (PACM), need to know some basic information about those materials.  This training module explains what asbestos is, how it can enter and effect the body, where it may be found, how to stay safe near it, and when to report conditions to a supervisor. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has regulations pertaining to asbestos and requires employers to provide awareness training to employees who may work near or around ACM or PACM.

Outcomes:

Persons completing this training module should:

  1. Understand what asbestos is.
  2. Understand how it can hurt you.
  3. Know where you could find asbestos.
  4. Know how to stay safe if asbestos is in the work area.
  5. Successfully complete the Knowledge Checks.

 

You will have two weeks to complete this course.
