Overview
Working in cold temperatures puts people at risk of cold stress. Cold stress can cause permanent tissue damage and death. In this awareness level module you are introduced to cold stress, its causes, and strategies to prevent it. Symptoms of the three main types of cold stress are covered as well as factors that increase your risk, like increased wind speeds, being wet or damp, failure to dress properly, exhaustion, poor physical conditioning, and certain health conditions.
