Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness
Overview:
This awareness level training contains the information necessary to keep oneself out of harms way of bloodborne pathogens. This training provides simplified need-to-know information for all employees that could come in contact with another person’s blood. The most common pathogens are introduced and an overview provided. SHARPS are covered with disposal requirements and safety procedures. This module also covers Hepatitus B vaccinations and the employers responsibility.
Module length: approximately 10 minutes.
Outcomes:
People completing this training module, should:
- Understand what bloodborne pathogens are.
- Understand how pathogens can harm you.
- Know how to protect themselves against bloodborne pathogens.
- Understand universal precautions.
